This is one of my all time favourite mixtapes, and what better way to get the ball rolling on this Blog than to share with y’all bums this classic Minimal Techno mix from 2 Lone Swordsman member and veteran UK DJ Andrew Weatherall.

Produced for the now, and sadly defunct, Force Tracks label out of Berlin, this was one of the major touchstones in the Minimal genre’s development in the early part of the decade. This is an all vinyl mixtape too kids. One of the first to use Pioneers then-amazing DJM-500 mixing console, the live effects and solid, dead-on blends prove that Weatherall was and is a don of the DJ game. Thin and stuttering, most of the tunes take a moment to get to the action, but some times it’s a nice change from the bombastic chainsaws of new-school cats like Crookers and Rusko. Stand-out tunes like the Matrix sampling “To Be Honest” by MRI and “Lawn For Show” by SF’s Safety Scissors, to the then massive Luomo tune “Tessio”, have a major swagga to them while also being unbearably pretty.

I’ve re-ripped it from CD @ 320 so you can get all the fuzzy, glitchy goodness in high-quality.
